Several members of our community expressed a serious interest in trying Combat Pilot in its early stages, so we are throwing caution to the wind and making this opportunity possible. Please try to be kind. The simple goal of this early version is for you to have some fun and try to envision a day when Combat Pilot comes together fully to push this genre to new heights. The road ahead will be long, but we are confident in our capabilities, which is why we are making such early work available to you.
We believe in being as transparent as possible and having members of our community come along for the ride. We know how hard it is to wait for a new CFS to come along, which is a rare thing. Please understand that this early pre-alpha version of Combat Pilot is rough, very rough. None of what you will see or experience with this build is anywhere close to final. Everything, and we mean everything, is a work-in-progress and will be buggy. In time, troublesome issues will be ironed out and placeholders replaced with fleshed-out designs.
Please bear in mind that the current Patreon build does not yet have support for VR or OpenTrack, but we will be integrating that in the not too distant future. Users of TrackIR will need to update their firmware to get ‘Combat Pilot’ added to the list of games, so it recognises the sim on startup. We are aware that VR is an important feature for a sizable portion of our community, and we will work on implementing it when our cockpits are ready. The same goes for clickable cockpits.
In time, you can expect to see some improvements as we march towards our first retail title called Combat Pilot: Carrier Qualification. Your job is not necessarily to find bugs, but to just have fun trying to fly and land on the carriers. There is no combat yet or multiplayer. However, if you do want to give us feedback or report crashes and serious bugs you can do so on our Discord in the Patreon bug-report channel or on our forum in the special Pre-Alpha Access section.
If you want to post videos of the pre-alpha you can, but there are a few simple rules you MUST agree to if you want to continue having access to the pre-alpha.
1. Please indicate in any video post CLEARLY and UP-FRONT in writing, and by voice (if any narration) that this is a pre-alpha and not a finished product.
2. Please DO NOT try to alter, remove, or obscure any in-game watermark stating that this is a pre-alpha in the video.
3. Please post a link to our website at in the first line of any description for the video.
4. Please DO NOT mis-identify our sim as any other flying game or simulation product using incorrect or unofficial box art on video sharing websites such as YouTube or in social media etc. If no box art is available for Combat Pilot, then please just leave it blank.
5. Please DO NOT share your in-game footage with third parties, meaning, any video you post should be posted on an account that is yours that you control. If you share footage with a third-party that is not a Patreon Ace Tier member to circumvent these rules, we will be forced to take action. You can allow embedding of your video, if you wish, so long as it is from your account that you control. Media sites that wish to post content from the pre-alpha should contact us for permission.
Anyone who does not follow these rules when posting a video, will unfortunately have their access to the pre-alpha removed. We also reserve the right to alter these rules at any time and without warning. We assume that if you are an Ace Tier member you wish Combat Pilot success and understand the need for our video sharing policy.
