What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Peril is a multiplayer online escape room game is which players must use their skills and wits to escape their peril. The early access build is composed of 7 escape rooms for players. By releasing early access, the Peril team will be allowed to test the foundation of our development engine that builds escape rooms. This escape room building system will be the main focus of the game upon full release in which players can build their own escape rooms for others to play. Players can build escape rooms within the game, upload their escape room through steam workshop, and download other player created escape rooms.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly 6 hours depending how quickly the players make it through the escape rooms. We plan to release new escape rooms monthly in early access and release the escape room building system for full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Full version will include a escape room building system in which players can build their own escape room, upload them through steam, and download other escape rooms. We want players to explore their creative side in building complex escape rooms for others to tackle. We also plan to include multi-language support.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access version will include seven challenges upon early access release, with new escape rooms released monthly. The seven challenges included in the early access version include a tutorial, Halloween dungeon saving Christmas, surviving a zombie horde, defeating a dungeon demon, sci-fi mystery, and robbing a bank.

Early Access will be supported on Windows only and English only. Full release will support Linux, OSX, and multi-language localization.

Early access version has been successfully beta tested with no major issues. Our goal in early access to to provide a clean running game without any hiccups for our players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, price will not change when we leave early access. By purchasing the game early access the players are giving our team the chance to test our system. We hope they will find the game entertaining and help the community grow.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We encourage players to get involved in our subreddit //www.reddit.com/r/ChallengeFailed/ in order to add ideas and get help completing challenges.”
