What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to use the Early Access in order to engage the community and get player feedback that will help us shape the game to its best possible form. We are planning to launch several content updates during the EA period and since we are a small team of developers, we want to get as much help from the community as we can.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our goal is to release the final version of the game in 2024. This should give us enough time to add all the planned content, polish the game and make changes according to player feedback, but in case we need more time, we will inform everyone in advance.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Viscerafest's campaign is broken up into 3 chapters separated by a primary hub space. Within this hub space, the player will be able to acquire gameplay modifiers and cheat codes, read Lore, browse through the game's bestiary, and select chapters and levels. This initial release contains the game's introductory level, and the whole of chapters 1 and 2, with the hub's primary features accompanied by the third chapter coming at launch. Additionally, the Early Access version has 16 of the 26 enemies filling out its roster, and 8 out of the total 9 weapons.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current release contains the opening prelude level, along with the game's 1st and 2nd chapters accompanied by the presence of the hub space. This provides roundabout 3-5 hours of gameplay. A fair chunk of the hub's functionality, including the library, bestiary, and shop, are not present within this release. Additionally, the current Early Access version contains 16 of the total 26 enemies and 8 of the 9 weapons.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price during the Early Access will be a bit lower in order to give the chance to early players to contribute to the development. We are planning to increase the price once as we get closer to the full release of the game. We will be informing everyone through the Steam news, Steam Discussion forums and our social media channels before any price change that might occur, so you can plan ahead.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are planning to do that mainly through our Steam forum and our Discord server. We encourage all players to share their thoughts about the game by posting messages on our forums. We would like to know of their suggestions about improving the game and how they feel about the level design, gameplay elements, sound, and anything they consider important.”

About This Game

THE STORY

The year is 3796, and you are Caroline. A bloodthirsty, psychopathic mercenary who wants nothing more than to marry her wonderful boyfriend Athens Fetter. Problem is money's tight, and rings aren't exactly cheap. But thankfully there may be hope for her yet, as a warlock named Cromune has acquired a rather hefty bounty on his head. He's being accompanied by a small fraction of the U.S.C. (The United Scientific Conglomerate) Lead by Dr Mortice. Which means he's got a small army defending him. But what's an army to someone who's taken on a legion? What're a few hundred soldiers to death incarnate? Nothing but a slaughter... Nay... A viscerafest.

The Early Access version includes an introductory prelude level, a portion of the game's hub space, and the entirety of the 1st and 2nd chapters, each with 7 levels to play through. It also features 16 of the 26 enemies and 8 of the 9 weapons. The hub's primary features together with the third chapter are planned for the game’s full launch.
