What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“ELVERA is in Early Access to invite player participation in shaping the game's future. Being a project developed by a single developer, community feedback is essential for fine-tuning the balance, mechanics, and gameplay experience. Early Access provides the platform to engage with players, learn from their feedback, and iterate on the game accordingly. As new characters, weapons, and abilities are added, this feedback loop will be crucial to ensure a balanced and enjoyable gameplay experience.

Transparency and open communication will be upheld throughout the development, making player input a key component in ELVERA's progress.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The estimated duration for Early Access is about 4 to 8 months. This time frame is not set in stone and may change based on the pace of development and the volume and nature of community feedback. The objective is to ensure that ELVERA reaches a level of polish and balance that aligns with both developer and community expectations before transitioning out of Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version aims to refine the existing gameplay mechanics and introduce new layers to the strategic depth of ELVERA. While the Early Access version provides a functional and engaging experience, the goal for the full version is to enhance this foundation.

Additions are expected in the form of new characters, each equipped with unique abilities and weapons. Moreover, enhancements to the existing systems are anticipated to make the competition even more engaging.

The full version is also expected to come with improvements in UI design, particularly in the dynamic UI elements, to provide a smoother and more intuitive player experience.

Though these are the planned directions, the game's development is an evolving process. The final shape it takes will be influenced heavily by community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of ELVERA is in a playable and stable state, offering the core gameplay experience. It features multiple characters, each with their own set of unique abilities and weapons, playable in a round-based combat system. The game includes a single map where the two opposing teams, Renegades and Faithfuls, face off.

A comprehensive rating system is in place to facilitate competitive gameplay, along with a KDA system that effectively tracks and awards player performance.

From a visual standpoint, the game is built on Unreal Engine, and while it may not aim for hyper-realism, it does offer a visually engaging experience suitable to its genre and style.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game is intended to remain free-to-play both during and after the Early Access period. There are no plans to change this pricing model. The focus will be on continually improving and expanding the game experience rather than altering its cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback from the community is invaluable in shaping ELVERA into a game that players will enjoy. Channels such as in-game feedback tools, the Steam Community Hub, and social media will serve as conduits for gathering opinions, suggestions, and even criticisms. I will provide regular updates on the game's development, and community polls might be organized to guide decisions on feature additions or tweaks.

Furthermore, players have a unique opportunity to leave a lasting impact on the game through the Visionary Vault. This special feature serves as a tribute to community members whose ideas have been implemented into ELVERA. If your suggestion enhances the gaming experience and gets adopted, your name and idea will be forever enshrined in the Visionary Vault, which can be accessed from the game's Main Menu. It's not only a way of saying 'Thank You,' but also an invitation for everyone to get involved creatively. So, if you have an idea you're passionate about, don't hesitate to share it—you might just find your name immortalized among ELVERA's visionaries.”
