What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access to invite the community to become an integral part of our game's development process. We believe that players' feedback and experiences are invaluable in shaping the final version of "Not The North Pole." By releasing the game in its current state, we aim to foster a collaborative environment where players can provide insights, suggest improvements, and contribute to the game's evolution.

Early Access allows us to gather a diverse range of opinions and ideas, helping us refine gameplay, balance difficulty, and perfect the overall user experience. We're excited to engage with the gaming community, explore their creativity, and incorporate their suggestions to make "Not The North Pole" the best possible game for our audience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate that "Not The North Pole" will be in Early Access for approximately 4 months. This time frame allows us to gather valuable feedback from our community, implement improvements, and polish the game while ensuring that we stay on track with our development roadmap.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of "Not The North Pole" is planned to have a more comprehensive and polished experience compared to the Early Access version. While we are proud of our current offering, we envision the following improvements and additions for the final release:

1. Expanded Storybook mode: We aim to create more immersive, captivating stories with additional chapters and adventures for players to explore.
2. Enhanced Mecha Santa customization: We plan to introduce a wider variety of customization options, including new parts, colors, and accessories for players to personalize their Mecha Santa.
3. Refined gameplay mechanics: Based on player feedback, we will optimize controls, difficulty balancing, and overall gameplay to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
4. Improved visuals and audio: We will work on enhancing graphics, animations, and sound effects to create a more immersive atmosphere.
5. Additional content: We will introduce new enemies, weapons, and in-game environments to keep the game fresh and engaging.
6. Bug fixes and performance optimizations: We will continuously address any technical issues and work on improving the game's performance on various hardware configurations.

Please note that these plans are subject to change based on community feedback and the development process. Our primary goal is to deliver a high-quality, entertaining experience for our players, and their input will be instrumental in shaping the final version of "Not The North Pole."”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the Early Access version of "Not The North Pole" is fully playable, featuring the engaging Survival mode. In this mode, players can encounter four different enemy types, each with unique abilities and challenges. There is a single weapon available, which can be upgraded multiple times to enhance its capabilities and help players fend off waves of enemies more effectively.

Additionally, the Early Access version includes a variety of toys for players to interact with, adding an extra layer of fun to the gameplay. While the core mechanics and gameplay experience are present, we will continue to refine and expand upon these features as we work towards the full version of the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the game will be priced differently during and after Early Access. To thank our early supporters and encourage their valuable feedback, we are offering a 75% discount on the game during the Early Access phase. This discounted price acknowledges the ongoing development and improvements that will be made to the game.

Once the game reaches its full release, the price will be increased to reflect the additional content, features, and polish that have been added during the Early Access period. By purchasing the game at the discounted price during Early Access, players can actively contribute to the development process while enjoying the game at a reduced cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are committed to involving the community in our development process and believe their feedback and suggestions will be crucial in shaping "Not The North Pole" into the best possible game. Here are some ways we plan to engage with the community:

1. Forums and social media: We will create and maintain dedicated forums and social media channels where players can share their thoughts, ideas, and experiences with the game. This will provide us with valuable feedback to improve and expand upon the game's features.
2. Regular updates and communication: We will keep the community informed about the game's progress through regular updates, patch notes, and announcements. This transparent communication will ensure that players are aware of ongoing developments and can contribute their insights.
3. Surveys and polls: We will occasionally conduct surveys and polls to gather opinions on specific features, gameplay mechanics, or design elements. This will help us prioritize our development efforts and understand what aspects of the game are most important to the community.
4. In-game feedback tools: We will implement feedback tools within the game itself, making it easy for players to report bugs, suggest improvements, or share their thoughts on the game while they play.
5. Public test servers: To ensure new content and features are thoroughly tested and balanced, we may introduce public test servers where players can try out upcoming updates and provide feedback before they are rolled out to the main game.

By actively engaging with our community, we aim to create an environment where players feel heard and valued, knowing that their input has a direct impact on the development of "Not The North Pole."”

About This Game

Developed using Unreal Engine, 'Not The North Pole' takes place in a magical, wintery landscape filled with candy, monsters, and toys. 'Not The North Pole' captures the wonder of Christmas with a twist; users play as Mecha Santa and battle evil Christmas spirits such as nutcrackers and snowmen using whimsical weapons that launch candy, ornaments, and other festive oddities.

'Not The North Pole' immerses players in a captivating virtual reality experience with two distinct game modes. In 'Survival Mode', prepare for endless excitement as you face relentless waves of enemies. Collect evil Christmas souls, upgrade your ammo, play with toys that have special abilities (wind up a nutcracker that helps protect you!), but whatever you do... Don't break the fence.

In 'Storybook Mode' (currently in development), select a unique storybook from within Santa's workshop and enjoy an interactive storytelling journey. As the story unfolds, the virtual reality environment transforms around you. Choose the optional 'Read To Me' feature for narration or disable it to read at your own pace. Storybook mode offers a diverse selection of Christmas lore from traditional stories around the world. Experience stories such as:

1. 'Hans Trapp's Haunting', a story where you travel to France to uncover the truth behind the sinister figure of Hans Trapp, who is terrorizing the local children, and put an end to his haunting.

2. The Belsnickel's Challenge: Santa flies to Germany and faces off against Belsnickel, a mischievous figure who wants to take over Christmas in Germany. Belsnickel challenges Santa to a series of trials that test his wits, agility, and kindness. Players must overcome these challenges and restore the holiday spirit.

*'Not The North Pole' is still in active development and some features such as 'Storybook Mode' are not yet available.*
