What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As a solo developer it takes a long time to realize the game vision and to polish everything into a perfect state. However, the core gameplay is mostly in place and hopefully it'll already be as fun to play as it is to playtest. Of course player feedback is very important as well and the future direction of this game would most definitely be influenced by the wants and needs of the playerbase.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Currently there are no clear goals for when the full version should release except for reaching a certain level of polish and streamlining everything. The approximate release date for version 1.0 is 2025.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The plan for the full version is:
  • More weapons
  • More levels
  • More upgrades and unlockables
  • Achievements
  • More gore
  • New enemy types
  • Boss battles
  • Eventually modding support

Even so, leaving early access does not mean a drop in the amount of content released or the frequency of updates. As this is a passion project, the game is constantly evolving and will continue to evolve for the foreseeable future.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable with a respectable roster of both melee weapons and firearms. There are a few levels accessible through a randomized mission selection screen each with difficulty options and a reward dependent on the selected difficulty. The rewards can then be used to purchase new weapons or upgrades.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As the level of polish and the amount of content increases so will the price but it will always be a fair and reasonable amount.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback is extremely important for both understanding which areas of the game mechanics need more work and prioritizing which content is the most wanted. Content updates will take into account the voices of the community, adding highly requested weapons will be prioritized and larger updates, like levels, may be voted on. Some mechanics can be changed according to player impressions, for example, a needlessly difficult mechanic might be entirely reworked if deemed necessary.

I plan on being active on Steam, Reddit and Discord to closely monitor feedback and communicate with the players.”

About This Game

Imagine the golden age of flash games. Now imagine playing them with a VR headset. BRUTALISTICK VR aims to make that happen with copious amounts of blood, gore, destruction and weapon variety.

Realism does not define this game, the rule of cool does. However, that doesn't mean that realism has no place here. Weapons have weight and must be wielded with the intent to kill if you don't want to meet your demise. Firearms require precise aim to fit the bullet between enemy armor plates... Or just buy a weapon with a caliber that will go through anyone and anything that dares stand in its way, the choice is yours.
Everything is simulated physically, throwing your enemies through windows and off roofs, launching a stake through their torso and pinning them against the wall, slicing their body in half with a blade that's more of a large hunk of iron than a sword, and even climbing and using grappling hooks. Dismemberment is not limited to limbs or even joints, splitting someone's head in half vertically is not a question of if but rather when.

Earn rewards to buy new gear or upgrade your stats and skills

Each mission earns you a reward that can then be used to buy new weapons. Or you can upgrade your stats and skills, from simply increasing your health or rewards to lifesteal and the power of your punches.

Coat entire levels with the blood of your enemies

Blood never disappears so you can marvel at the carnage you've created.

Unlock new vendors with an entirely different stock

Each vendor has different types of weapons to complement their personality and the levels that they're unlocked from. From farming tools to experimental military armaments, everything is at your fingertips.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Extreme cartoony violence. Blood, gore, dismemberment, internal organs.
