“Outer Storms was born from the ambition to create an independent game and offer players complete and unique entertainment.

Straight from a brain in constant turmoil, the launch of Early Access will allow you to appreciate the beginning of the history of the Kerrians.

Community feedback is now essential for the development of Outer Storms. I am therefore counting on this community power to improve the game experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Outer Storms will remain in Early Access for at least 18 months, until the game experience is complete. There is still a lot to do and a lot of content planned. The necessary time will be taken to achieve the desired quality.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access will launch with one planet and several regions to play.
I plan to add more areas and content as development of Outer Storms progresses.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“After almost a year of solo development, Outer Storms currently includes a starting zone as well as a first playable planet.

The main gameplay mechanics are in place and allow you to explore and get into the action fairly quickly.
The first planet already offers a few hours of gameplay, during which the player will have to explore, collect resources, clean up the alien infection, then begin to impose their presence in a lasting way by terraforming.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to gradually raise the price as I ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“A Discord will be made available to exchange with the community. Reviews and feedback will obviously be a gold mine for the development phase. Time will be dedicated each week to reading and moderating posts. The maximum will be done to respond as best as possible without impacting the time spent developing the game.”

About This Game

Outer Storms is a 3D survival and strategy game with a top-down view, where the player takes on the role of a Kerrian, the last survivor of a civilization destroyed by a threat from the depths of their planet. After a long space journey, the capsule crashes on an unknown world, where the player must explore, gather resources, and terraform the land to rebuild civilization.

DYNAMIC TERRAFORMING

The terrain changes in real-time based on the player's actions. By terraforming, the player actively modifies the environment to make it habitable. Each transformation of the soil can generate strategic bonuses, such as the appearance of additional resources, improved survival conditions, or the creation of outposts that push back the infection. Terraforming thus increases the safety and efficiency of explorations while weakening the enemy.

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Harvest ores to generate Kyrrite, a substance unique to the Kerrians, derived from the digestion of Kyrrine particles found in ores. Kyrrite and its variants are used to improve the capsule and exploration abilities.

SURVIVAL AND DEFENSE

Transform the capsule into a highly sophisticated turret and defend it against a dangerous environment and enemy assaults, attracted by the energy emitted and the player's activity. Manage resources to avoid depletion.

Outer Storms combines exploration, resource management, and real-time terraforming to rebuild a devastated world while fending off a deadly threat. Terraforming plays a key role by offering tactical advantages, while dynamically shaping the terrain to enhance survival.
