Why Early Access?

“As an indie developer, creating a full RPG game requires significant time and effort. Rather than isolating development over a lengthy period, we've decided to adopt an episodic structure, releasing the game in chapters. This approach allows us to engage with our community early and gather valuable feedback to shape the game's evolution. By involving players from the beginning, we can ensure that "Mya and their Cat" is a game that resonates with our audience and delivers an enjoyable experience. Early Access enables us to refine gameplay, fix issues, and add content based on player input, ultimately resulting in a polished and well-loved final product.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“While it's challenging to provide an exact timeline due to the iterative nature of Early Access, we currently plan to release the game in a series of nine chapters. We estimate that each chapter will take around two to six months to complete. These chapter releases are the major updates you should expect while the game is in early access. Therefore, we anticipate that "Mya and their Cat" will be in Early Access for approximately between two to five years before the full game is complete. This timeline allows us to develop and refine the game with ongoing feedback from our community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan that the full version of "Mya and their Cat" will expand significantly upon the foundation laid during Early Access. While the Early Access version provides an introduction to the game's core mechanics, story, and initial content, we anticipate the full release to include the following enhancements:

• Additional Chapters: Early Access launches with the initial chapters of the game. The full version is planned to include all nine chapters, each adding new story content, characters, and challenges.
  
• Expanded Storyline: We aim to deliver a more comprehensive and developed narrative, with deeper character arcs and additional side quests.
  
• New Areas and Dungeons: As we progress through Early Access, we plan to add new explorable areas and dungeons, each with unique puzzles, enemies, and secrets.
  
• Enhanced Gameplay Mechanics: We plan to refine and expand gameplay mechanics based on player feedback, including improved combat systems, puzzle mechanics, and exploration features.
  
• Polished Visuals and Audio: The full version is expected to feature enhanced graphics, animations, and sound design, providing a more immersive experience.
  
• Additional Items and Equipment: We plan to offer a wider variety of items and equipment, offering more customization and strategic options.
  
• Quality of Life Improvements: Based on community feedback, we plan to implement various quality of life improvements to enhance the overall user experience.
  
• Bug Fixes and Optimization: Throughout Early Access, we aim to address bugs and optimize performance to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience in the full release.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We are in the very early stages of development. Currently, the game includes the initial portion of the storyline, allowing players to explore the starting areas, engage with key characters, and experience the core gameplay mechanics. This includes basic exploration, puzzle-solving, and light combat elements. While the foundation is in place, there is still a lot of content to be added and refined based on player feedback. We are actively working on expanding the game world, enhancing gameplay features, and improving overall performance.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as we ship new content and features throughout the development process. Early Access players will have the opportunity to purchase the game at a lower price, reflecting the early and evolving nature of the content. The price will change at major milestones in the project's development, such as significant content updates or feature enhancements. As we add more content, improve features, and get closer to the full release, the price will be adjusted to reflect the enhanced value and completeness of the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As an indie developer, we value the player community as an invaluable resource. We plan to actively seek feedback through forums and social media, using this input to guide the development of new features and content. Additionally, we aim to keep the community informed with regular development updates. By reacting to player feedback between updates, we hope to create a game that resonates with our audience.
