About This Game

MERIDIAN: A Wellness VR Journey

MERIDIAN is a 1-hour long VR experience that explores your body, its properties, and limitations. Speed up, slow down, and fly around at any angle that suits you best. It encourages you to look at your body as a network of connections between bones, muscles, and fascia, helping you understand movement patterns and postural habits. Muscles and fascia are linked into muscle chains, or myofascial meridians. These meridians extend from head to toe, connecting different parts of the body. This interconnectedness means that tension or dysfunction in one area can affect distant and sometimes unexpected areas. When you exercise, it’s not just isolated muscles that engage; it’s a complex system where bones, muscles, and connective tissues collaborate.

By exploring these muscle chains in VR, guided by emissive flashes, you’ll gain sensory and visual information about how different muscle groups influence your movement. Engage with this experience long enough, and the visuals combined with feelings will carve into your brain, allowing you to communicate with your body in a more advanced language. With consistent practice, you will find inner peace during the storm. Take a breath.

Breathing is a constant part of life, 24 hours a day. It involves more than just the nose and diaphragm. It engages your entire body, including the spine. Observe and learn how your body breathes in and out, how your ribcage flows, and how this process engages muscle chains. Oxygenation affects more than just your lungs; it affects every cell. Take advantage of this practice. It’s your path to enhanced exercise efficiency through conscious oxygenation. Learn how to slide!

Static strength training, or isometric exercises, involves holding a static position against resistance without changing the joint angle and distance. These exercises enhance muscle endurance, stability, and strength. They are particularly beneficial for building core strength and stabilization, improving posture, and increasing your sense of control. Through this practice, you will understand effortless effort. With time and repetition, you will see improvement and growth. Just remember how connected you are.

MERIDIAN is my first take on a complex approach to human wellness. It stimulates awareness of how muscles and fascia work together. Interconnectedness. You will develop new control and sensation. Maybe your pain will turn into the Riddle?
