What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“There are plenty of features we can still add to the game but we want to hear user feedback to guide us in the right direction. For example, are there unbalanced game elements? Should we add more end-game content? Are there ideas to make the game faster in the early-game? Any small widgets or animations that could make a big difference? Plus, we would also like to gauge the interest in the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are hoping for no longer than a year. After which we hope to release the full-version with much greater features.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to release minor patches throughout Early Access as the game develops. Suggestions for major feature additions or changes to gameplay mechanics will be considered for the full version release. Here are a few key features we hope to add (unless community feedback leads us in a different direction):
  • Protagonist - We'll be introducing the main protagonist into the game, along with a boss fight.
  • Animated Messages - We aim to enhance in-game messaging and make achievements more noticeable. While the current output box works for the alpha stage, we’re planning to add more dynamic and animated elements.
  • Magic Sword Training - Currently, you can build Magic Swords, but unlocking all of their secrets is yet to come.
  • NPCs - We plan to integrate AI using deep learning models to create NPCs. Whether you play solo or with friends, you can turn on/off different levels of AI competition.
  • Servers - The current-state allows you to host your own game, but for the full release, we plan to host dedicated servers for a better multiplayer experience. This may come at a cost though - time will tell.
  • Leaderboards - Since the game revolves around gaining victory points (VP) in the fewest rounds, we plan to introduce a leaderboard or high-scores page on Steam or our website. This would not only be high-scores for all VP, but also for sub-categories like Capital, Fellowships, Combat, etc.
  • Balanced Characters - We recognize that some characters need balancing, and we'll be refining this based on player feedback, with appropriate buffs and nerfs along the way.
  • We also have many other ideas, from quirky to simple, and we’d love to hear your thoughts!

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is in a fully playable state, and once you get familiar with the layout, we believe it offers an enjoyable experience for anyone who loves a digital board-game feel. However, as we haven't been able to test every aspect, there may still be some hidden bugs. We would greatly appreciate your help in identifying any issues so we can resolve them quickly.

Currently, everything outlined in the "About This" section is fully implemented. This means you can play both single-player and multiplayer, experience the complete game from start to finish, focus on the five aptitudes to gain victory points, and search for the legendary Magic Sword fragments to revive the Magic Sword.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan to change the cost during Early Access. We do, however, plan to sell the full-release at a small additional cost that reflects the energy and effort our developers have invested in producing the full-game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We hope to use feedback through Steam, Discord, our website, YouTube, Ko-Fi, email, and other channels to consolidate feedback and create modifications and improvements. Of course we want to connect with the community and be involved in the process with them, so we plan to keep that line of communication as open as possible!”
