Why Early Access?

“I want to get the demo out there to gather early feedback on bugs and suggestions while I work on the rest of the game”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 3 months at most”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Ideally, the full game will have more screens on the existing zones, a handful of new zones with new mechanics within, and an additional zone at the end that can only be reached if the player finishes fast enough. Additionally, I'd also like to add the ability to share ghosts between players so you can race your friends asynchronously”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All the core mechanics are implemented for movement, the menus and saves are functional, and there are about half the amount of screens I want in the final version. It's basically just the final version but smaller/shorter.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The demo will be free. The full version will be priced fairly.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I intend to gather feedback through reviews and X. If there's a large enough community, I'll consider creating a Discord to share feedback in”

About This Game

The Grappler is a test of patience, precision, and perseverance. Inspired by brutally challenging platformers like Jump King and Getting Over It, this 2D adventure will push you to your limits, one frustratingly rewarding grapple at a time.

Reach the top of the mountain using only your grappling hook, double jump, and dash. Sounds simple, right?

Key Features:

  • Grappling Hook: Use your grappling hook to swing yourself across gaps and terrain.

  • Double Jump & Dash: Combine your jumps and dashes to create fluid, skill-based movement.

  • Difficult: The higher you climb, the more intense the challenge becomes. A single mistake could send you plummeting back to the bottom—so stay focused!

  • Beautiful but Unforgiving Areas: Traverse different biomes, from dense forests to icy peaks, each with its own unique hazards.

  • For the Brave: This game isn't for the faint-hearted, but every fall is a lesson, and every success feels like a true achievement.

Can you conquer the mountain, or will gravity get the best of you? The summit is waiting—if you can survive the journey.
