What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“While Stellar Navigator has all its core functionality, there is a period of time in which development will continue both in polish and in additional features. During this time, the developer would like to engage with the community to improve existing functionality and also entertain fresh ideas for possible inclusion in future versions.

Please be aware that while Stellar Navigator is in early access the saved galaxy and solar system files may become unstable as new versions are rolled out. Testing and development will be done to ensure that this result is limited or prevented.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“The full release of Stellar Navigator is expected to be available in 2026. As Stellar Navigator has its core set of features available upon launch, the rest of the year will be used to polish this functionality and add additional features that have not been deemed necessary to get the application into the hands of its users.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We would like Stellar Navigator to have and are planning for features such as:
  • Ability to create multiple galaxies
  • More planet visual types
  • Space stations as celestial bodies (Placement the same as planets with similar properties)
  • Steam workshop support to share your galaxies with others.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Entirely usable from the creation of the first solar system to the last planet. Users will be able to create vast amounts of solar systems, filling them with planets, asteroids, comets, and black holes. All the core tools are available for users.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Stellar Navigator will not see a change in price after Early Access. Same price now, same price then.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through Discord and updates on the website and other social media outlets, the community will be connected to the development and be able to provide feedback, ideas, and support to other navigators (users). Development of Stellar Navigator has been a project of positivity and creativity and it will always be the desire to continue this with every navigator of Stellar Navigator.

Let's all keep looking to the stars!”
