What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“To achieve the scope and final vision of our game, it will be necessary to deeply understand the type of player who enjoys and seeks more experiences that simulate the idea of being a librarian.

We believe we already have a fun and functional version of this experience and have many ideas on how to evolve it further. Early access is an option for us because it will allow us to focus our resources and help validate our current vision while providing valuable insights on where to go next.

But beyond that, it is currently the healthiest and most objective way to get to know and interact with our audience. Through a participatory process between developers and players, we can gather feedback about the game and accurately discover which ideas work, which don’t, and what our players’ greatest desires are for the future of our game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately one year, but the idea is to make constant updates during this time.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, we plan on including more features that enhance the librarian simulation fantasy.

One of our focuses will be on diversifying organizational possibilities and providing new ways to acquire books and customize the library's interactive environment, potentially resulting in increasingly customizable options that reflect the unique ways different groups express themselves as librarians.

In addition, we plan on improving how customers interact with the library, which would, in turn, generate more tasks that simulate a librarian's daily life and gradually test players on how they choose to organize and manage their day-to-day activities.

Finally, we plan to explore alternative game modes and introduce support for mods (if possible) and the active participation of players and partners in customizing the book content within their libraries. This will include possibilities involving a social environment where players can interact not only as librarians but also as visitors to other players' libraries, consuming books and engaging with each other in various ways. We can't promise those features, but they are surely interesting additions we will be working hard to test and check how they could be implemented to the final game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, the game offers a single-player or co-op experience that explores a basic yet challenging daily simulation of a librarian's life. Players can organize books on shelves as they wish, acquire new books, attend to customers, manage the library, and expand and customize the environment.

These are the features we consider important to deliver a fun experience in its basic form. However, they also serve as the necessary foundation to expand and deepen the game in new directions that make sense.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as we release new features for the game until we reach the final launch price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We intend to create a Discord community where players can stay updated on the development team's plans (whenever possible), provide direct feedback, report issues, and find groups of players to play with and share their experiences with us and other players.

Additionally, we plan on including in-game mechanisms for content suggestions, especially the ability to suggest the addition of public domain books that are of interest to our players.

We also plan on sharing regular updates (like dev logs) on the game's Steam page through the "announcements" section.”
