What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

Rise of Humanity is a large and complex strategy game. Easy to learn and hard to master. We plan on adding around 270 cards for its full release as well as a total of 8 characters and various enemies. This is a game that requires a lot of balancing and we want to make sure we get it right before we release it to everyone.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Since we don't have an exact release date for it is safe to say it will be in Early Access for 6 to 18 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The plan for our Early Access launch is for it to include all major gameplay features of the game. The full version of the game will include 3 distinctive modes, a story mode, a daily challenge mode and a game mode we want to develop with the community. While in Early Access, the main focus will be on adding more content and story to the game, the full release will contain more environments, cards, characters, enemies and a full story campaign.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains two different game modes:
• a Story Mode with a linear story campaign with six levels while meeting new heroes and beating challenges that get more difficult as they progress in the game.
• a Daily Challenge Mode, where players fight in 3 different missions with 3 randomly determined heroes under battle conditions that change every day, in six possible environments and three difficulties. By beating these missions, players can climb the daily and monthly leaderboards and become our champion!

The Early Access game will include:
• Six missions with text dialogue, as well as six level environments with increasing difficulty
• Four playable characters, each with three skills trees, each tree having 3 skills. For example, for Hunter, players can decide on which of his skill tree they would like to build on: make him more of a hit and run character with melee attacks as his strength, a gunslinger or an explosive expert. Each will effect the strategy of the players differently in the game.
• Three enemies (Crushers, Robot Puppies and Drones) with different powers and one dangerous mini-boss
• Unlimited random side missions chosen from two mission types (players will either have to escape the level or kill all enemies to complete a mission)
• 119 playable cards: 25 general cards that all characters can use, and 20-27 cards for each hero that are specific to their skills. (For example, Alex, a medic with healing powers will have cards that can increase the health of other heroes, while Memory, a hacker will have unique cards that can disarm, immobilize or control the enemy machines.)
• A central mission hub (the Hideout) where players can heal their heroes, buy them skills, upgrade, merge and remove cards from their decks.
We plan to have two major releases during Early Access, in the meantime, we plan to do regular updates with bug fixes and new content for the daily challenges.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The full version will include more content so we expect to have an increase in price as well.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Having community involvement during the development is key to the success of any game! We have been active with our community ever since we had something worth showing and talking about, they have been helping us with bug fixes, design decisions and making improvements to the game. We also plan on involving them in the story and other features.’’

You can always follow our updates and progress through our different channels including our website, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, Discord.”

About This Game

Rise of Humanity is a tactical turn-based deck-building card game set in a dystopian future where an AI has taken over the world. Take control of a band of loveable misfit heroes that survived the onslaught decades ago and help them save humankind!

Each hero (and enemy) is controlled by a deck of cards, allowing them to attack, dodge, move and so on. Use remarkable weapons such as an exploding bunny to slay hordes of crushers, robot puppies and drones!

Collect, upgrade and merge cards to build decks for each of your heroes and get them stronger as the story missions progress. Be the master of the playing field by planning your strategy wisely!

For now, the game has 2 modes:
• In Story Mode, guide your trusty team of characters on a mission to destroy the rogue AI.
• In Daily Challenge Mode, fight in 3 different missions with 3 randomly determined heroes under battle conditions that change every day. Climb the daily and monthly leaderboards and become our champion.
