What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I chose to release my game in early access because I'd like to get interested people involved to help this game be the best it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My goal is to have the game finished by the end of 2025.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

Here is some, but not all, of what is planned for the game's final release:

🔹Highly Realistic and Detailed World

🔹Dangerous Environments
Things like lava, falling rocks, fall damage, etc.

🔹Dangerous Weather
Events like lightning strikes, floods, etc.

🔹Unique Artificial Intelligence per Species
There will be a variety of behaviors to make the game feel more alive. Some dinosaurs will sneak through the forests and stalk prey, others may hide when they hear something bigger approaching. Some dinosaurs may roam in herds and graze on plants in the meadows while others may travel alone or in small packs and cover a lot of territory while hunting. Some dinosaurs may aggressively defend their territory while others may peacefully share territory with other species.

🔹Dinosaurs' Non-Combat Interactions
Triceratops butting heads, velociraptors fighting to see who will be the pack leader, hatchlings chasing each-other playfully, etc.

🔹Defeat Alpha Dinosaurs
Sometimes they will control territory that you will want to take control of or they will try to take over your territory. They are extremely powerful and dangerous.

🔹Territory
Claim, defend, and expand your territory. You and your pack or herd will be stronger in your territory and your enemies will be weaker. You'll have to keep enemies from taking over your territory and claiming its resources. You'll also be able to take territory from your enemies.

🔹Combat Improvements
What I have planned for the combat system is a more action-based style of gameplay where you and your target can dodge each-other's attacks, attack vulnerable spots to do critical hits, while avoiding armored areas of your target that take very little damage. Each dinosaur species will have a set of passive traits, some that are useful in combat and others that are useful out of combat. Each dinosaur species will have a special signature ability that can sometimes shift the battle in their favor but cannot be used very often so you'll want to save it for when it matters most.

🔹Advancement Paths
Choose different paths for specializing the traits and capabilities of your dinosaur. For example, one velociraptor could specialize in sneaking and stalking prey, while another could specialize in pack coordination and improving the usefulness of their pack.

🔹Carnivores Claiming Corpses
Carnivores will want to protect their kill or steal the kill from others so they can benefit from the healing capabilities and additional growth gained from eating a fresh kill.

🔹Stalking and Ambushing
Some dinosaurs will be stealthy and sneak through taller grass, behind rocks and trees, and then strike at their target. This means some dinosaurs will flee from the sight of other dinosaurs and may even hide from them.

🔹AI Resting
AI will be able to lay down and rest during the day or night. This will speed up the recovery process for injuries and recover lost health quicker. It will also be part of the AI's behavior for the day and night cycle.

🔹Advanced Nesting
Nests and eggs need to be protected from scavengers and predators. Mother can lay eggs in the nests. Parents can keep the nest warm.  Parents that are protecting their nests will be stronger.

🔹Hatchling Imprinting
Young dinosaurs will follow and mimic their parents, learning how to be a dinosaur that can survive on their own. Parents that are protecting young will be stronger while doing so.

🔹Custom user interface.

🔹Customizable creature skins.

🔹And Much More.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“🔹The game is in a playable state with some but not all of its major features in working order.

🔹Multiplayer Mode and Singleplayer Mode.

🔹Core gameplay features and functionality are periodically getting improved.

🔹Content that extends basic functionality is getting added to the game gradually.

🔹The game's store-bought assets are being replaced one at a time with custom made assets, this includes 3d models of creatures. In the meantime, lower-quality store-bought 3d models are being replaced with higher-quality store-bought 3d models.

🔹Creature and inventory progress is saved between play sessions.

🔹The game's islands are in a basic state, they periodically get improved, and it is planned that they will be recreated with much higher detail in the future.

🔹And Much more!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will gradually increase as more content and features are added to the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm looking for constructive feedback and criticism on what works well for the game, what doesn't, and ways to make improvements.
