What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Scrapping Simulator started as a Hobby Project, though after suffering some Health Issues I was unable to return to my Full-Time Job and decided to go full steam ahead with Game Development - Being rather passionate in the field of E-Waste Recycling I also figured this title was somewhat unique enough to warrant an additional Simulator to the sea of existing Sim games - Though with my lack of prior experience in this field I felt it necessary to go with Early Access with Constant Updates to work toward the End Goal, using Early Access Profits to cover Costs and Invest further into 'DefectGaming' & 'Scrapping Simulator'.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It is very hard to tell, being my first ever proper release besides failed Demo's/Prototypes, I simply cannot comprehend or foresee the issues, setbacks and delays I am going to face, as getting this far is all new to me.
All I can hope is that I will have the game out of 'Alpha' and into 'Beta v0.5+' where the game will essentially be in it's final state with it's traversal to v1.0 with Refining, Polishing, Bug Fixing and Optimising, before the end of 2024.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The plan for Full Release is to have:
  • A Full Open World Map (Expecting around 3-5km depending on Engine Capabilities toward the Game's concept and my ability to optimise).
  • Vehicles to travel the Open World.
  • More E-Waste Devices (Ranging from CRT TVs, Mobile Phones, Tablets, White Goods etc).
  • More Realistic Disassembly (Including Copper Wire and many other Inner components).
  • Missions/Quests/Side-Quests.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state is that the core fundamentals of my idea have been achieved and am now working on polishing current features, bug fixing, adding filler to follow tradition, adding QOL updates & features based on Community Suggestions and working toward v1.0 Final Release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“At this stage there are no plans to increase the Price either during or after Early Access”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Using the Steam Community HUB, Discord Server and GitHub Repo. Using Suggestions, Feedback, Reviews and Bug Reports to make a better final product for all.”
