What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am a solo neuroscientist developing this game with passion and effort. However, I am limited on how well I can balance the game, either by imagining what other players would do or calculating how much time robots would need to get to endgame content.

That's why I choose to make this game available as early access, I think this option is excellent, so the community can help decide the proper balance needed and which gameplay mechanics are cool to have.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“That depends on how much I can add and if I can bring someone else to help me with the UI design and object creation. I expect to need at least one more year to develop the mechanics I want to implement.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Have more maps for smaller and bigger groups. For example, a small map for a 3v1 and a bigger map for a 8v1.

I'm also planning to add a team choice when a robot die, so they can either help Nanook and rage against the machines or keep their code intact and help other robots destroy him.

There is also a need to add some tutorials in the game, so players understand the basic on how the game work.

Increase the number of robots meshes and other skins for Nanook.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In the current state of the game, players can create and find matches, choose settings for almost all gameplay mechanics: skill cooldowns, and effects; build times, cost, and production rate; almost every aspect of the mods that Nanook can have; and some character specifics settings (ex. base movement speed). The game is fully playable and have a restart option, however, there are some bugs when you play as the server side, and probably more that I haven't found yet.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The early access is free to play and won't change during the development process. The game will continue to be free to play after early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community is the most vital part for this game, since this is a multiplayer team vs team, the balancing changes needed are only available through the feedback and involvement of the users. The game has a dedicated discord server that will collect feedback through and run polls to understand what players want the direction of the updates to go. I will further adjust and improve the game based on players suggestions and feedback.”

About This Game

Nanook's revenge is a Vampirism and Troll & Elves like game.

Nanook is a deity seeking revenge against the A.I. that killed all humans. As inevitable as the human fate was, Nanook was not happy to lose the humanity he cared for. While humans were alive, it was believed that this deity decided if a hunter deserved to find and hunt bears to survive. Nanook then punished those who violated his codes. For thousands of years, Nanook received sacrifices from humans and offerings like weapon, hunting tools and maybe the most important, knowledge. Learning from observing humans, Nanook now can steal and use the technology created by this new type of life: the robots.

Since the A.I. were too preoccupied and focused on how to exterminate the human race, they never stopped to pay attention to other supernatural beings that could exist. With the human race now extinct, it is now the time for the robots to focus on gathering resources and becoming a better civilization that humans only dreamed for. However, for the machine big surprise, they did not anticipate the problem that Nanook could pose to all that they achieved after exterminating all humans. In order for they to continue to prevail, they need to exterminate this sorry excuse of a bear.
