Why Early Access?

“While we feel the game is capable of offering fun gameplay already, we have not reached all of our development goals. Among our goals are some more gameplay features and a larger world. Since we are capable of delivering something playable though, we thought we would make it available to the public so we can start receiving feedback on how they would like development to proceed.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect to exit Early Access by the end of 2022.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our near future goals include player classes (like wizard and knight), instanced/procedurally generated dungeons, player and NPC guilds and guild combat, scheduled guild raids, player parties, and an an even larger world.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently it is possible to login, explore the fragments of the partially constructed city, visit a really spooky graveyard, fight some zombies and city guards. You can even gain some levels and apply stat points to build your character.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will always be free to play but there will eventually be subscription models offering non-advantageous rewards. Most are cosmetic in nature.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Odyssey has always been very community oriented, as it started as a small-scale MMORPG for about 100 players online at a time. Odyssey always drew on the community to assist with world building or to steer the process of development. We hope to foster the same kind of atmosphere and listen closely to what our players wish to see put into the game.

During Early Access, we encourage players to reach out to us via our Discord. We prefer discord because we like the feeling of close-knit communities that it fosters, and we wish to be very close to to our early supports.”
