Why Early Access?

“As a solo-developer, additional time is incredibly helpful for allowing me to improve and polish The Static. I would like to provide a unique, fun and polished platforming experience. In order to achieve a higher level of quality more time is required. In the meantime, I would love users to be able to experience the unique world of The Static.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I hope to have the full release available within a year from the early access release. Free content will be added to The Static throughout the development cycle.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release will include 6 full worlds to explore. The full release will also have: Steam achievements, cloud saves, performance optimization, additional content, more options and QoL features, and more! These additions will be delivered via free content updates, starting shortly after the Early Access launch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current early access version contains less than half of the full game's content, and is lacking optimization and accessibility options. These additions will be delivered via free content updates, starting shortly after the Early Access launch.”

About This Game

The Static is a 3D-platformer where you control a television-traversing ghost dead set on rescuing their spectral neighbors. Reunite lost spirits and breathe new (after)life into a once-forgotten ghostly neighborhood.

  • Discover and explore diverse worlds each with their own distinct themes and challenges

  • Utilize lightbulbs and other powerups to engage your spectral abilities

  • Overcome difficult platforming challenges that will test both your wit and dexterity

  • Encounter and face off against a variety of strange, creepy creatures

  • Solve puzzles and put your ghostly skills to the test
