Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current plans consist of a development time of at least twelve months. However, since our feature wishlist is already pretty packed, we'd like to take our time and leave the door open for an even longer development period. We'll try our best to keep everyone up-to-date about our goals and plans during Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final version of the game will include several new features, which we plan to add during Early Access, including features that will extend the core gameplay mechanics. In addition to those, we plan to incrementally add new stuff like buildings, missions, and expeditions to the game.

In the predecessor, we pushed big feature updates monthly. With Endzone 2, we want to split the update stream into a monthly rotation of small patches and big updates. This allows us to integrate more feature-rich and more coherent additions with the big updates as it allows us to invest more time into QA and feature iteration.

Patches will include quality of life improvements, balancing changes, and bug fixes to the game. They might also include smaller content additions or changes.

Updates will include significant feature additions like Raiders, for example. A big update might also contain substantial content additions, like a thematic set of new missions or expeditions.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We worked really hard to make our Early Access release feature-rich from the start. In the beginning, it will be limited to one endless game mode and a tutorial. The core gameplay itself already offers several disasters and threats, and will probably push you to the limit. It will also feature procedural map generation, so every session you start will come with its unique challenges. Since one of the core features is the discovery and claiming of additional, habitable zones to establish more settlements and find more resources, we are confident that you'll have several hours worth of fun right from the start of early access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes – the price for the full release version of Endzone 2 will be higher than the current price for the Early Access version.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community is extremely important to us and practically essential for the development of Endzone 2. Through them, we want to gain clear insight into what features are desired and how we can further improve the game for the players. We have seen many times how games started off great but failed to adapt to the voice of their player base. Our goal is to stay transparent throughout the development, be open-minded, and listen to our community.

We are permanently active on our Discord Server as well as in the Steam Forums and have an open ear for feedback, suggestions, and wishes. We put our focus on 4 major aspects:

  • Gameplay & Balance
  • Bug fixing
  • Suggestions for additional game content
  • Suggestions for additional game modes
