Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Its hard to tell how long the development will take before leaving early access. it's important for me to ensure that the game reaches a level of quality and content that satisfies both myself and the community. While I don't have an exact timeline at this stage, my current plan is to continue working on the game for an estimated period of around 2-3 years during the Early Access phase.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Since this game is a work in progress both on content as much as its overall roadmap, the final product seen in its entirety is yet also a bit of a mystery to myself, and is probably best described as being the "complete" version, which I plan to have a span of around 5-6 contracts incl. various playmodes. That is my goal, and that is what I will be working towards best I can!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state features the core basics and beginning of the game. The "gunmans base", which includes various weapons to store, mod and customize, a set of gunrange highscore courses and a few demo areas including bullet penetration panels, ragdoll demonstration and enemy face off challenges.

Currently work in progress: the first Gunman contract, which is aimed to be included in the initial Early Access launch.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The plan is to start the price low, since the game will feature very limited content in the begining, and increase the price from time to time to reflect its content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Community has a special place in this project. Starting out as a mod for Half-Life: Alyx, getting feedback and inspiration from the community pushed me to expand my first Gunman Contracts mod with a second chapter, and ultimately to making this game.

Going forward, I intend do continue this process and deepen my ties with my customers, which is why I have created an official Discord-Server for players to join and contribute with feedback, bugreports, ideas and inspiration:

"Gunman Contracts - Stand Alone" is an intense, action-movie inspired shooter playable both in VR and in Non-VR (First Person). In the role of a highly trained professional hitman, known and feared as the "gunman", the player takes on ruthless forces in the criminal underworld, bringing justice and order in the world beyond the reach of law - one contract at a time.



With its origins in the famous Half-Life:Alyx mods Gunman Contracts - Chapter 1 & Chapter 2, "Gunman Contracts - Stand Alone" takes the experience to the next level, with a from the ground up new created singleplayer shooter experience running standalone. With all new contracts (missions) selectable and configurable from the gunmans base of operations, the player can use pistols, rifles, shotguns, knives and even bow&arrow to face its enemies, taking on ruthless criminals, rescuing hostages and thwarting sinister plots.

Please be aware: this version of the game is still incomplete and specifically designed to grow in early-access. It will have bugs and quirks, and will take time to be concluded with additional content (contracts, weapons, challenges etc.), to be the standout action VR shooter eperience its meant to be.

The developers describe the content like this:

Modeld after gun blazing hollywood action thrillers, this game contains content not appropriate for all ages, and may not be appropriate for viewing at work, featuring frequent violence and general mature content.

Note: this game can also be played in a "low violence" mode, which disables nearly all blood effects and splatter, but still keeps the action intact.
