  • Use mods to design your city with a custom look!

  • With data from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan, you can build your castle using realistic Japanese terrain!

Defend your city with lots of Zundamons!

Repel enemies by using height and crossfire, even when they climb up in large numbers!

Acquire new technologies and build various types of buildings. All buildings are made of cute voxels!

Who are Tohoku Kiritan and Zundamon?

Tohoku Kiritan and Zundamon are characters created by SSS LLC, a Japanese company, in 2011, the year of the Great East Japan Earthquake. The characters were created with the hope of supporting the reconstruction of the Tohoku region and revitalizing the area. Zundamon, in particular, gained explosive popularity after the release of a free synthetic voice in 2021, and became widely known through YouTube voice commentary, achieving significant recognition within Japan (like Miku).

Voxel Shogun Kiritan Castle is a fan game where these characters take center stage, but it is designed to be enjoyable even for those who aren't familiar with them. If you don't know about Kiritan or Zundamon, but you're interested in playing a city-building or castle-building game set in the Sengoku period, or you're a fan of Japanese RTS or tower defense games, this is definitely a game for you!

Note: This game is sold with the permission of the Tohoku Zunzun Project.

Tohoku Kiritan (11 years old)

The youngest of the Tohoku Three Sisters. Her older sisters are Tohoku Zunko (17) and Tohoku Itako (19). The "Kiritan Cannon," which she carries on her back, is inspired by kiritampo, a traditional Tohoku dish. The hair ornament she wears is modeled after the Namahage knife, a reference to a traditional Tohoku folklore figure. Her birthday is February 13th.

In this game, Kiritan gets caught up in the chaos of the Warring States period and is separated from her sisters. Together with Zundamon, whom she escapes with, she builds a new village in an uninhabited land, hoping to reunite with her sisters while resisting the turbulent waves of the Warring States era.

Zundamon (Human Form)

A humanized version of the edamame fairy. Officially, Zundamon is a girl, but it has been explicitly stated that they can also be a boy. Their age is unknown, and their birthday is December 5th. Zundamon's favorite food is zundamochi, and they can transform into a Zunda-arrow . In official novels and manga, Zundamon often splits and multiplies, so in this game, many Zundamons make an appearance. They play a key role in supporting the city’s logistics and fight alongside Kiritan as a reliable ally.
