What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access enables us to develop Adventure Forge in close collaboration with our community. We believe that Adventure Forge will empower a fresh wave of designers to become Adventure Forge Gamesmiths, and we invite them to join us from the very outset of development. Through Early Access, we have the invaluable opportunity to listen to our community's feedback, make enhancements, iterate on ideas, and incorporate new features in a purposeful manner.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“As an Early Access game, our plan is to evolve the platform over the coming months while gathering the feedback of our community.

While game development can be an uncertain process at times, we expect to be in early access for at least six months and anticipate to enter full release by the end of 2024.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our goals in Early Access for Adventure Forge are:
  • To integrate and improve the tools user experience via feedback from early access users.
  • To add additional functionality in the following modules; isometric combat, 2D Interface tool, Location design tool, Character design tool, and the Narrative design tool.
  • To explore implementation of multi-user simultaneous game authoring so game creation becomes faster and more social.
  • To identify missing functionality via early access users requests.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Adventure Forge provides a complete platform to create a wide range of narrative-rich games without any coding or scripting required. You can make your own Choose Your Own Path, Visual Novel, Hidden Object and Isometric RPG games and share them with your friends in the community. You can create these games in our Tales of Fortunata universe, or you can create your own universe using the thousands of Medieval Fantasy, Science-Fiction and Modern Day assets provided. You'll also be able to play the adventures we and other Gamesmiths have created. We have not completed combat yet, but you'll have full ability to create adventures based on exploration and dialogue with full graphics, animations and audio. We've put a full list of current features in the 'About This Game' section below, and we can't wait to see what you create!”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our community plays a vital role in the development process, shaping Adventure Forge to align with both our vision and the desires of our Gamesmiths and players. We encourage everyone to actively engage with us by sharing feedback, leaving respectful comments, and offering constructive suggestions through our Official Discord and Steam Community forums. Additionally, we warmly welcome feedback across our various social media channels. Your input is invaluable in helping us iterate, improve, and create the best platform we can.”

About This Software

Adventure Forge is a creative tool kit designed to empower aspiring designers, writers, and artists to make the narrative video games we have always dreamed of. A collection of powerful tools for character, location, interface, and narrative design are driven by a contextual drop-down logic system that enables deep game design without the need to program code or write scripts.

Adventure Forge empowers you to mix many forms of narrative games, to bring your unique game design and story to life. From Choose-Your-Own-Path style of interactive dialogs, to Visual Novels, to story rich Hidden Object Games, all the way to highly interactive isometric RPGs.

Adventure Forge offers a selection of existing universes to choose from. Each contains all the tools you would need to create your game. From portraits, 3D character models and animations, terrain tiles, props, decals, and 2D animations allow you to focus on game mechanics and story immediately,

You can also add your own artwork, animations, music, to your Adventure so you can customise your game any way you want.

Adventure Forge also comes with a story-centric free universe; Tales of Fortunata, a new story world set in a magical version of Renaissance Venice, created by Jordan Weisman and Sean Stewart.

Adventure Forge also lets you import your own assets in your games. Create backgrounds, terrain tiles, props, 3D models and animations, compose your own music, and design your characters, then bring them into the platform and infuse them with life.

Adventure Forge allows you to let others discover your stories. Push a button and share your game with the community of Adventure Forge’s players. Want to keep it only for your friends? No problem. Share it just with them. Prefer to open it to the whole community? Go for it!

Want to charge players for your game or sell your Universe for others to make games within? You will be able to when Adventure Forge reaches full release.

We will be watching for games that get traction in the Adventure Forge community, and if we think that your game has potential as a stand alone title, we will reach out to you to discuss investing in and publishing your game as a stand alone title in all the App stores that make sense for the game you’ve created.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

When we add generative art AI to Adventure Forge it will be trained on the work of our internal art team to reproduce the style of a specific game world. This will empower game designers to create new isometric props and portraits for their games that match the style of the thousands of art assets we have created for a game world. The game designer selects which generated prop to use, if any, so that they are in complete control of what art is presented to players. The generative AI feature will not be available for all game worlds.

We will also be introducing generative AI text as an aid for writers. When a game author requests, the AI will propose text for descriptions or dialog based upon the author’s prompt, which is contextually reinforced by previous writing the author has done for the game. The resulting text is presented for the author to edit so that all text presented to players was under complete control of the author.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Adventure Forge is a platform that empowers aspiring designers, writers, and artists to create their own narrative games. While the content Endless Adventures publishes on the platform will not include mature content, content from our creator community may. All such content will be tagged by the creators within the application.
