What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“By releasing the game as early access, we get the opportunity to make Lexicon the best possible version of itself based on your feedback. Lexicon is very much still a work in progress with only 2 out of 8 main locations completed. However, we want to share what we have with the gaming community.

We totally understand most people want to play a fully developed game. If you want to support our relatively new studio in other ways, check out our social media pages and wiki to see what we’re up to.

We hope that you join us on our development journey, but if you don’t, that’s cool too! Whatever you decide, feel free to visit our store page for the latest updates. We’d love to have you play our game!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current plan is to stay in early access for the next two years allowing us to build out the remaining 6 unique locations in Lexicon and refine the game as a whole. As we develop further, we’ll be sure to let you know about our final release date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will contain the entire Lexicon story including all 8 locations with refined art, music, dialogue, translations, puzzles, and controls. The early access version of the game will expand as new worlds are added and is subject to change as we implement your user feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Our early access version of Lexicon contains the first 2 locations in the game which we estimate will take you about 2 hours to complete. Since our game is a linear narrative, these first 2 locations give the player a taste of what is to come. They teach the player how to play the game, contain relatively simple puzzles, and set up the world’s story. As we develop further, more mechanics and more complex puzzles will be added to the game.

Although we have worked diligently to rid the game of annoying bugs, this is our first iteration of Lexicon in the early access phase. As such, bugs will unfortunately appear from time to time, and we need your help to squash them. When you experience a bug, please let us know, so we can make the game the very best it can be.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. During early access, we will slightly increase the price of the game after each addition of a new location. After early access, we will maintain a stable price as the game will likely only require basic maintenance. We will be sure to inform the community across Steam and our social media channels before each major update and price change.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our goal of being in early access is to learn from the community and make Lexicon the best it can be. As such, your feedback will directly influence Lexicon’s evolution, and we can’t wait to go on this exciting journey with you!

To give feedback on the game, we encourage you to share your thoughts, report bugs, and engage with fellow players on our Steam feedback page. In the future, we may open a Subreddit or Discord server to interact with you further. #duckinadungeon”

About This Game

Reality calls you to return from the world between worlds. You see a glimmer of light that pierces the darkness... Who will you meet? What will you discover?

Lexicon is a single-player puzzle adventure game that invites players to solve mind-bending challenges using familiar 2000s-style flash game mechanics while telling a unique story about a person who finds themselves in the mysterious, and sometimes highly quirky, world of Ekkos.

Immerse yourself in the enigmatic and delightfully eccentric world of Ekkos as you traverse Babel’s 6 unique domains, meet its peculiar inhabitants, and discover its hidden secrets.

EKKOS
The realm between life and death is visited by few as most beings are unaware of its existence. Although Ekkos is made up of several habitable layers, most beings live in the layer known as Babel.

Babel consists of 6 unique geographical domains that each possess their own people and problems. In Lexicon, you will navigate through each of these domains to ultimately escape from the world between worlds.

CHARACTERS
As you travel through Ekkos, you will interact with a diverse array of beings of various personalities, ideologies and idiosyncrasies. Some of them might seem shy at first, but don’t be afraid to engage them more than once! If prodded enough, these characters may reveal more about themselves, and they might just surprise you…

With its classic ¾ perspective and enchanting vector art, Lexicon will challenge your wits and evoke the nostalgia of 2000s-style web games as you solve head-scratching conundrums.

INDUS
Some speakers of the long lost language have the ability to manifest words into physical form. On your journey, you will need to learn new words in Indus to explore the various Domains each containing their own elemental characteristics.

POWERS
The origin of your powers is a mystery, yet mastery of them will prove essential to overcoming difficult challenges. Powers like Time Stop can be used in combination with Indus to pass through dangerous environments.

2000S NOSTALGIA
We cherish the days of secretly playing web games on our elementary school computers long before any of us owned high end consoles and PCs. We want to reinvent what made these great games great and allow for this next generation of gamers to experience them with our modern interpretation.
