What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Our goal is to capture the power fantasy of being a giant monster—duking it out with mechs in a destructible city. We want to make sure that when a player asks, "Can I do this?" the answer is "Yes" as often as possible. Can I climb buildings? Yes. Can I tear a mech's arm off and beat them with it? Yup. We need your feedback to know what other aspects of that fantasy players are most eager to experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Based on what we have planned now, we estimate the full launch will come 18 months to two years after Early Access launch. However, that depends largely on the feedback we get.

We have the core gameplay loop complete, but there are features we have in the works for post-Early Access launch, and features we're holding off on until we can see what aspects of the game our community enjoys most. That will heavily influence what additional gameplay we focus on, what we put on the sidelines, and how long it'll take.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In short: more content and polish. While it's in Early Access, we intend to add additional content—which usually comes with creating new bugs. So our plan is to get the content in, fine-tune it, and undergo extensive bug killing sprees before our full launch.

For the additional content, the goal is to have more melee, ranged, and breath/core weapons. Plus more enemies with more variety. We hope to give the mechs more unique appearances, as well as more abilities that present unique challenges. We hope to include more maps as well, but the main focus will be on giving the player more "toys" to wreck the city and mechs with.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All core combat mechanics are in, as is the core gameplay loop. You can earn "mutation points" from battling mechs and spend them to unlock a variety of powers. So far this includes:

ARM WEAPONS
- Power Fist
- Plasma Cannon
- Plasma Hose
- Gravity Cannon
- Sticky Bomb
- Rail Gun

SHOULDER WEAPONS
- Minigun
- Missile Pod

CORE WEAPONS
- Fire Breath
- Slow Time
- Photon Lance
- Force Breath
- Juggernaut

There's also a host of mechs that unlock as you fight them, each with their own loadout. Their weapons range from energy blades to various rifles and heavy cannons, to missile barrages, to devastating chest beams that carve through buildings.

There are weaker "grunt" tier mechs that are easy to defeat, but can be a challenge when facing several of them at once, and "hero" tier mechs, which you might clash with one-on-one.

The destruction system is fully implemented, so that any structure in the game can be bashed, blasted, or burned into nothing but rubble.

As players and purchasers of early access games ourselves, we’ve done our best to ensure our game will be a full gameplay experience on day one, with more fun and destructive toys to look forward to in the future.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will likely increase for the official release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're a tiny indie team, so the help of the community reporting bugs and letting us know the best/worst aspects as they see it really helps us determine where to spend our time.
