What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We've been having a lot of fun developing Subterror, and right now you can have many hours of fun playing. We already have lots of ideas for what we would like to add in the future. As a team of 3 working on this part-time, we really want to hear what features the community wants, and prioritize those.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Subterror to be in Early Access for 3-5 months. This will allow us to reach the full vision we planned for the game. Depending on the feedback we get, this period may be extended.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version to have more maps, enemies, weather variants, equipment, and items. We will also do our best to track and fix any bugs that players may encounter along the way.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version supports up to 4 players and features a server browser, save files, in-game voice chat, 6 biospheres, 8 enemies, 3 procedurally generated facility variants, 3 weather variants, 6 pieces of equipment purchasable from the shop, and 16 different items that can be found within the facilities.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players who want to get involved in the development process can post feature requests on the Steam discussion page. If you have an idea for a new enemy, piece of equipment or biosphere, make a post and we may use your ideas during development.”

About This Game

What Lies Beneath

At the bottom of the ocean floor lie The Biospheres. These weather-controlled domes once supported vast arrays of lifeforms, but have since been abandoned. Explore arid deserts, dark forests, and frozen tundras. But don't stay too late, as you are not alone out in the great abyss.

What Lies Within

Venture into procedural dungeons deep within The Biospheres. Discover why the underwater domes were built and what inhabitants may lurk inside. Should you want to continue your exploration deeper underwater, you best not leave empty-handed.

Stick Together

It's dangerous to go alone. Bring a crew of up to 4 players to better your odds. Or, if you are feeling hardcore, you can venture off by yourself.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Players can die in many ways, including decapitation.
