Why Early Access?

“I feel like Hullbreaker is in a state where it is able to be seen by the public and evaluated however, there is still a good amount of additional content to still be implemented. More than anything I want to improve the game in a way that requires support of the player base. Not only improvement but also to give the player base more of a voice when it comes to deciding what should and should not be changed/added to the game.

Hullbreaker as a whole is not in a state that I could say is a "1.0" version of the game, there are many things that need to be added to make this a reality would be more weapon types, the ones I currently have planned right now are more cannonball types, a Greek fire weapon type of implementation, as well as different varieties when it comes to choosing upgrades themselves.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More weapon types that would improve the general feel and more so the replay ability of the game. Some examples of things that are going to be added is different weapon types such as Greek fire, ram augments, and different cannon/cannonball types that change the playstyle of ships on a greater level. An overhaul to the weather system so that it effects the environment and gameplay more so such as making the ocean more reactive to the weather. As well as at least 80 unique upgrades to choose from.

Overall, I want Hullbreaker to be a game that is able to be played for at least 30 hours and I want the content of the game to reflect that before I would call it the "full version".”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The main gameplay systems are clear and in place with the loop well established. There are 5 different weapon types in place with over 30 different upgrades to choose from and mix and matched as pleased. Some extra polish is still needed when it comes to specific systems, but Hullbreaker is in a playable state as is.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the game will slightly increase upon full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will also collecting most general feedback from posts on the Hullbreaker Reddit, Discord, as well as Steam community discussions. This will help me decide what needs to be changed or what would make a good addition to Hullbreaker.

It's important to note that I am listening closely to feedback to monitor progress, fix bugs, as well as add your ideas to shape the game in a better way for both my own sake and yours!
