Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 1 year. During this time we will be dedicated to expanding, refining, and broadening the War of Souls game mode. We plan to add more late-game content for players to obtain and help deepen the meaning of the PvP Partial-loot conflict late in the game. During Early Access, we’ll also continue enhancing our combat system and abilities—adding new weapons, making improvements, and adding new skill mechanics. Additionally, we’ll focus on refining our continuous progression systems and introducing more pathways to build diversity.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We would like to have a larger variety of weapons & armor choices. The War of Souls game mode should have more late-game mechanics such as dungeons, monster rifts, or other exciting contested content containing end-game progression resources.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the start of early access—There are 18 weapons with 72 different abilities, 92 armor & gem pieces, 18 Torments & Souls, 10 enchant tiers & 5 regrade tiers respectively to progress through on loadout gear & weapons, 3 different biomes with 2 additional sub-biomes, 16 different bosses (4 boss types with 4 variations each), 51 Ranks, 30 craftable buffs, 18 different pieces of Dimension equipment, & over 180 unique items to obtain.

The game is made by a team of two, we are not perfect, and we will do our best to fix any issues that arise as quickly as possible.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new features and major content expansions.”

Innovative AOE-centric Skill Based Action Combat—The combat in Pawan is extremely intuitive. This is the core foundation for Gathering, PvM, and PvP. The combat system is unique, satisfying, and intuitive—with the feel of a third-person shooter brought to fantasy action combat. The combat has added nuance and attention to detail—with the quickswap weapon system utilizing mid-ability swap buffering, there is animation cancels for players to master double-ultimate combos, and above all there is a need to aim your abilities accurately.

Loadout system—Provides you the flexibility to change your playstyle mid-match. Spend hours crafting the perfect build in our Main Menu loadout builder choosing from over 110 armor, weapons, & gems. 

Item Value-based Team Scoring with 51 Ranks to climb—Our team-based gameplay is similar to factions. Choose to help your teammates or run away laughing as they get swarmed and you keep your hard-earned loot. If you want to climb ranks fast though, securing as much value for your team as possible is your goal. Ranks reward valuable base stat bonuses. Whether your hunting enemies alone, farming bosses as a team, or working in smaller groups—there is a wide range of playstyles supported.

Matchmaking backfills additional players as you play—All matches are found, regardless of whether its a single party or a full lobby, in around 60 seconds or less—while you are playing we are actively matchmaking for players to add to the match. Our chat system will let you know when players join—so you can jump into the action and still be aware when your corrupted loot is becoming more risky to hold. All progression systems are long-term, meaning joining a match late won't impact your ability to hold your own. While we are early days, we are going to match party members together, but team assignments will be randomized. So bring a group of friends and have fun competing against each other!

As a two man bootstrapped indie team, achieving our game's vision without AI would have been literally impossible. We have used AI tools such as Midjourney for item icons, some materials in game, & parts of our trailers. We also used AI such as Soundraw.io for our soundtrack in-game, Suno for trailer music, Elevenlabs for voice acting, and a few other AI tools for technical areas of the game.
